Pottery Palooza Clay Art West Holiday Sale 2024 Saturday, November 16, 2024 9am-4pm Event set-up November 15, 5-6:30pm and November 16th 9am to 10am.
Who: ClayArt West in Monrovia is inviting you to participate in our annual Pottery Palooza ClayArt West Holiday Sale. ClayArt West is a community studio in a residential area providing memberships and classes in pottery and art for adults and children.
What: Our second annual pottery sale and festival will be held on November 16th at our site: 315 N. Alta Vista Ave., in Monrovia. All of our 11 members will be offering work for sale and each will have one or two pottery tables to sell their ceramics. We are offering additional spaces by application to other artists by invitation. Each space is one 6’ table. All items for sale must be made by the artist or sold as a component of the art. For example plants can be sold as part of artist made pottery items. Approval required for anything offered for sale that is not artist made. No manufactured items are allowed. No resale items. Allowed mediums include ceramics, jewelry, paintings, wood, textile, glass, paper, and other 2D mediums. In addition to art for sale the festival will have, family games with prizes, pottery wheel throwing demonstration, a kids craft booth, music and refreshments.
Where: The sale is held in the front and back yard of 315 N. Alta Vista Ave., in Monrovia.
When: November 16th from 10am to 4pm. Set up time is the day before. Please arrive at 5 for set up on Friday November 15th to receive your location assignment and set up your table. Disassembling is from 4:01 to 5pm on November 16th. All items need to be removed from premises by 5:00 pm.
Marketing Participation: Each participant agrees to invite their mailing lists, friends and neighbors. Plan to invite at least 20 to 100 people and post to your followers. Extend some personal invitations as well during the 2 weeks prior to the festival starting November 4th. You will be given a yard sign to place in your front yard.
Our marketing and promotion plans included signage that will be used to draw people to the event. The City of Monrovia required that signage throughout the community must be placed on private property or private cars. It will be placed on cars on Foothill, Myrtle, Alta Vista and Hillcrest and other streets and corners. Each participant should consider participating in the car sign marketing program. We will provide the sign and once each artist is set up in the morning by 9:30 to 9:45 they will drive the car to a spot near the sale and park it. Another car can pick you up. We will cover an area about 3 or 4 blocks radius. Members and invited guest-artist participants will be provided with an e-poster in various formats for online marketing at least 2 weeks ahead of the event. For marketing purposes, each artist participant will be asked to put a festival sign on their car and park in a designated area near the event (3 blocks radius).
Deadline: We suggest you apply as soon as possible. We will fill spots from the applicants as we receive them so text or call Emilie (240-350-8533). first before applying to make sure there is still room. Deadline for application is two weeks prior to event — November 2nd, 2024.
Financial: Fee is $50 for an application fee. If artist is not accepted the application fee is not refunded. There are no other fees. Artist vendors keep 100% of their take and handle their own transactions. The fee is per artist/booth.
Taxes: You must have a resale number and collect and report sales taxes. Go to CDTFA.CA.Gov website to get your number. Criteria Summary: - All of your items are handmade by the artist applying. - Provide 2 photos. One of a product you will be selling and one composite that includes the range of products or a booth shot. - You must have a Calif temporary or permanent tax permit. - The morning of the event arrive early to participate in our car-based marketing. - You provide your own table or tables. Size roughly 30” x 72” suggested. No tents. Umbrellas are encouraged. Bring your own chair. - You are selling only handmade items made by you - no manufactured or resale. - You will have discretion to determine your own prices but please keep them in line with our price list. Artists keep 100% of sales. - Supply your own payment system and do your own sales. Supply your own bags. - Apply early in order to get a spot. - Send Application, with $50, one product shot and one composite product shot or booth shot. - Agree to participate in marketing: Willingness to use your car to hold a sign parked away from the site. Use social media and personal invitations to invite at least 20 to 100 people. - Bring some baked goods to the bake sale — 12 to 24 servings.
