Pottery Classes

At Clay Art Pottery West, we believe in the power of clay to calm the mind and awaken the spirit. Our adult pottery classes offer more than just skill-building—they provide a space to unwind, unplug, and reconnect with your creativity.  Kids pottery wheel classes are a fun, educational, and developmental activity that nurtures your child’s growth and creativity.

Why Pottery?
Pottery is a hands-on, meditative experience that invites you to slow down and enjoy the process. Shaping clay helps reduce stress, improve focus, and promote emotional balance—all while making something beautiful with your own two hands.

What You’ll Need:
You don’t need any experience to get started—just a willingness to try something new or a love of clay! We provide:
  • All the basic tools and materials
  • Expert instruction in a relaxed, supportive setting
  • Access to hand-building and wheel-throwing techniques
  • Kiln firing included.

Our studio is a welcoming space where all adults and children of all backgrounds can explore, create, and connect. Whether you're seeking a creative outlet, a therapeutic hobby, or simply a fun way to spend time, pottery offers the perfect balance of relaxation and self-expression.

Ready to center yourself—one piece at a time?

Our students say:

What a gem this place is. Filled with learning growing and a wonderful camaraderie. Easy parking and a peaceful tranquil setting add to the experience. Emilie brings a creative joyfulness to learning pottery. And she elevates her students in a supportive and impactful way."
Joy P.

I learned to center and throw a cylinder.  The teaching led me step by step.  I enjoyed learning to create so many pots and it gave me a lot of self confidence.

The whole mind, body and soul were nourished in an impactful way that helped me improve my knowledge in clay and grow my inner-self in a way.  I will forever be thankful that I crossed paths with Emilie.  She is a teacher that cares about you and your growth in pottery.
