2024 Wheel Retreat: I initially took Emilie’s pottery classes to improve my skills on the wheel. Soon, I realized that I needed a more intensive course, and I was thrilled to discover that she offers a Creative Wheel Throwing Retreat every summer.
Traveling all the way from England to attend Emilie’s retreat was an amazing decision. Her approach is incredibly organized, and she plans each day with meticulous care, ensuring her students are fully aware of the entire process of throwing. Emilie’s focus on individual goals is outstanding, as she takes the time to understand each student's aspirations and helps them reach their full potential as artists.
One of the highlights of the retreat was the inclusion of a local artist who shared unique insights and techniques, enriching the learning experience. Additionally, the inspiring field trips to museums dedicated to ceramics kept the creative energy flowing and provided a broader perspective on the art form.

2023 Wheel Retreat: The summer ceramics retreat was so much fun. Mornings were full of learning new techniques and time to practice, and afternoons gave us free time to work on our pieces and create whatever we wanted! Everything we needed was provided -- from lunch to clay to transportation to our field trips. Truly a beautiful summer memory.

2023 Wheel Retreat: Fun and inspiring! It felt so luxurious getting to spend all day for 5 days in a row making pottery! Working with the clay got me quickly into a peaceful and serene state of mind....centered ☺️. Emilie and the assistant teachers were so supportive and expert. The friendships I made in the studio, on the field trips, and at our lovely lunches were priceless! I'm coming back next year and will bring my daughter when she is a teen!"
